Costumes, props and scripts used in films, posters and private belongings revealed!
There will be a variety of interesting items displayed at each exhibit such as private belongings left
behind by Akira Kurosawa, costumes, props and scripts used in Kurosawa films,a full revival
of the shooting set of "RAN", a calligraphy exhibition by Ryosetsu Imai, who has been writing the titles
of Kurosawa films, and photos of Akira Kurosawa taken by photographer Yoshihiro Tatsuki.
Akira Kurosawa's composition notebook and storyboard drawings also will be displayed.

TOPIC 01 Storyboard of legendary film, “Tora Tora Tora!” exhibited!
“TORA!TORA!TORA!” is based on the attack on Pearl Harbor, and was released in 1979 in both Japan and America.
The Japanese director was chosen as Akira Kurosawa, but due to problems with America, he left the film unfinished
unfortunately. The storyboard sketches drawn by Kurosawa will be exhibited. By actually looking at the storyboards,
you will be able to witness Kurosawa’s determination, and the actual beauty of his drawings.。

TOPIC 02 Film director Kurosawa’s composition notebook exhibited
Introducing the many sayings Akira Kurosawa wrote in his notebook while making movies.

TOPIC 03 Revival of film “RAN”’s film set
Kaede no ma, the room of the main character of film “RAN” will be fully recreated.
Props and costumes designed by academy award winner, Emi Wada also exhibited.
An exhibition that will never be seen before.

TOPIC 04 Photo exhibition of Akira Kurosawa taken by photographer Yoshihiro Tatsuki
An exhibition of precious photos taken by Yoshihiro Tatsuki will be exhibited.
Photos of rare moments of Kurosawa, and unreleased photos will also be displayed.

TOPIC 05 Exhibition of Calligraphist Ryosetsu Imai
Ryosetsu Imai is a famous calligraphist of Japan who wrote the titles for many Kurosawa films.
Exhibits of Akira Kurosawa’s film titles written by Calligrapher Ryosetsu Imai will be also open to the public.
